Many people don’t know that there is a thing called a foreclosure hearing. You have the right to be heard by a local Circuit Court, to explain your hardship and in detail spell out why you are not paying your mortgage. If the court sides with you it has been known to prolong foreclosures for years.

Another almost secret plan is to check your closing papers for errors. This method has been used by attorneys for years and they will usually charge you a lot of money to do this. But you can do this on your own and save a great dwal of money. If errors are found, foreclosure can be halted for a very long period of time.

There is no guarantee that you can prevent a foreclosure by any of the above methods, but if you take a pro active approach and look to stop foreclosure before it happens you will be better off than having to fight a foreclosure after the proceedings have started.
